ABOUT BERND FISA

 

Bernd Fisa, born in 1971, is a political sports consultant who has worked in this area for over twenty years.

 

The Austrian has led and managed a variety of teams as well as launching a number of large-scale projects in different countries.

 

As a strategic communications consultant to the world football governing body, FIFA, he mitigated, amongst other projects, the ongoing conflict between the Palestinian and Israeli Football Association.

 

Fisa was press officer for the seven times FIA Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher at Ferrari.

 

Following his time at the iconic Italian motor racing team, he successfully ran the Austro Swiss bid for the EURO 2008 for the Austrian Football Association.

 

He worked alongside Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz to launch the Red Bull Media House, a ground-breaking in house media offering for the company.

 

Fisa learned his trade as a cub reporter at the Italian sports daily „La Gazzetta dello Sport“ in Milan.

 

He speaks German and Italian in addition to English, French and Spanish.

 

Bernd Fisa was heavily involved in the establishment of the Stefano Borgonovo Foundation, an organisation founded of Italian football legend Stefano Borgonovo who lost his battle with motor neuron disease, more commonly known as ALS, in 2013. ALS is a severe neurological illness that causes the progressive loss of all muscle functions. The Stefano Borgonovo Foundation aims to raise awareness of ALS and promotes educational sporting activities amongst young people in memory of Stefano.

Fisa, a close friend of Stefano Borgonovo and his family, was responsible for the appointment of the world’s best footballer, four-time FIFA Ballon D’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, Carlo Ancelotti, the most successful club coach, and other footballers as ambassadors for the foundation.

 

The father of two kids is also board member of Global Watch, an initiative of the Nelson Mandela Foundation set up to fight racism in sports.
